SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (AP) - Lake Tahoe is expected to see more snow after a weekend of getting blanketed with it.

The Tahoe Daily Tribune reported Monday that the National Weather Service has issued a storm warning through Tuesday morning.

Forecasters say the Lake Tahoe area could see anywhere between 4 and 8 inches of snow. Areas above 7,000 feet may see a foot.

Wind gusts may go up to 25 mph. But they could go as high as 80 mph in mountainous areas.

The winter weather has wreaked some havoc on visitors trying to get out of South Lake Tahoe.

California transportation officials closed U.S. Highway 50 to control for potential avalanches.

Officials are urging against travel. Motorists who head out on the road should be prepared for long delays and have an emergency kit.
