'The Godfather Part II' Lake Tahoe Home Is on the Market for $5.5 Million
A residence in a California estate that served as the backdrop for The Godfather Part II is on the market for $5.5 million. The 4,200 square-foot residence is part of Fleur du Lac, or “Flower of the Lake” estate, which industrialist Henry Kaiser built in 1938. Situated on Lake Tahoe, Fleur du Lac Estate was the setting where Michael Corleone threw his son’s first communion celebration. It was also the backdrop for [spoiler alert!!] Fredo’s death.
After The Godfather Part II was filmed in the ‘70s, Fleur du Lac Estates was renovated in the ‘80s. According to the listing, the residence 20 has four bedrooms and five full bathrooms. The foyer leads to the primary living space that features a large stone hearth that reaches the vaulted ceiling. A pass-through door connects the living space to the spacious kitchen with polished granite counters. The breakfast nook leads directly to the Lake Tahoe shore.
The staircase leads to the second floor where all four en-suite bedrooms are located. The hallway, which has a mahogany banister, gets lots of natural lights from the cupola above it.
