Visitors asked to stay out of South Lake Tahoe this Memorial Day weekend

South Lake Tahoe property owners are now allowed to go to Tahoe, but visitors are still asked to stay away, city officials said. Lake Tahoe is always appealing to visitors -- especially this time of year. But striking a balance between nature, commerce and public health is the real challenge this Memorial Day weekend. South Lake Tahoe normally sees 100,000 people -- including residents -- over the Memorial Day holiday. This year, officials estimated the numbers would be just half of that.
