Lake Tahoe Home Where The Godfather Part II Was Filmed Lists for $5.5 Million

A California mansion on Lake Tahoe made famous by The Godfather Part II is officially on the market for $5.5 million. The residence, which spans more than 4,200 square feet, comprises four bedrooms and five full bathrooms, with dramatic views of both the water and the mountain vistas surrounding it. Originally built in 1938 by industrialist Henry Kaiser, the home has since been restored to offer up modern luxuries married with period detailing. Inside, a foyer leads directly to the primary living and entertaining space, which features a towering stone hearth fireplace and double-height, wood-beamed ceilings. Nearly floor-to-ceiling windows allow in ample natural light, and there is a wet bar tucked just adjacent to the formal dining area. A pass-through door connects the primary living areas with a gourmet kitchen, which boasts polished granite countertops, two ovens, a six-burner range, and other state-of-the-art appliances all revolving around a large center island. A cozy breakfast nook is situated under a panel of three large picture windows overlooking Lake Tahoe.

The home’s four en suite bedrooms are located on the second floor, with the master suite taking in sunny southern lake views. The master suite has its own stone fireplace, a sitting area, and a master bathroom with a deep-soaking tub set next to an entire wall of mirrors and a separate steam shower. Each of the other three bedrooms has its own unique feel and decor, with one offering up pink-and-white-striped wallpaper and another with a more playful zigzag wallpaper design. According to the listing, the property is available fully furnished and decorated, meaning that the bedrooms’ unique decor will remain intact. Other amenities offered up by the gated community include two tennis courts, an exercise facility with locker room and steam showers, a private beach, heated pool and jacuzzi, bocce court, and access to the Boathouse and Yacht Club. In The Godfather Part II, the Fleur du Lac Estates served as the setting where patriarch Michael Corleone hosted a massive party for his son’s first communion.
